Richmond Hill’s annual bulk trash pick-up gets under way Monday, April 25 in “Zone 1” neighborhoods and continues through the week, but officials can’t provide pickup dates due to the volume.

“In the past, we have provided pick-up dates but the volume of bulk trash has risen significantly and areas cannot be completed within a day now,” an announcement from the city said. “Updates on the bulk trash progress will be posted during that week so residents will know when our public works crews are moving into another zone.

Zone 1 – Mulberry, Richmond Place, Blueberry, Camellia Street, Rosemont Street, Carter Street, Rushing Street, Forest Street, Clark Street, Live Oak, White Oak and Ponderosa.

Zone 2: Piercefield, Teal Lake, Main Street, Brisbon Hall, Sterling Creek, Sterling Woods, Cypress Point, Creek Valley, Richmond Hill Plantation-Port Royal, Creekside and The Commons.

Zone 3 - Richmond Heights, Parkside, Walker Ct., The Bottom, Cherokee, Port Drive, Melrose, Richmond Hill Plantation and Turtle Hill. This opportunity is only available for City of Richmond Hill current water account users in residential zoning areas.

Curbside pick-up will include large items such as appliances, furniture, and other bulky items not normally picked up by the regular trash service.

All City residents should place their items on the curb by 7 a.m. the morning of the scheduled pick-up. The following items will not be collected: tires, hazardous waste items, paint, refrigerators, freezers, oil or oil-based product, grease products, batteries, gas or gas-based products, lawnmowers, Freon or Freon based products.

Subdivisions will be serviced once only. Yard waste will not be picked up during this time until bulk trash removal is complete.
