Bryan County Schools: Schools closed Wednesday, board hearing rescheduled
A decision on Thursday will be made on Wednesday afternoon

In an email to parents, Bryan County Schools has confirmed that schools will be closed on Wednesday, January 22 due to winter weather conditions.

In addition, the school board hearing over House Bill 581 and the board's intent to opt out of the statewide homestead exemption has been moved to Thursday, February 6  at 6:30 p.m. 

The letter reads: 

Bryan County Schools has been closely monitoring the winter weather and the expected impact to our area tonight and into tomorrow. Based on the information from the National Weather Service and communication from Bryan County Emergency Management, Bryan County Schools has made the decision to close schools tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

 

A decision about Thursday will be made by 2:00pm Wednesday.

 

If you planned on attending the House Bill 581 hearing tonight, this hearing has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 6:30 pm at the Bryan County Board of Education Central Office.
