BoE considering education foundation

If school board members agree, Bryan County Schools could one day have an educational foundation, inc., of its own.
The idea was presented at the Board of Education’s July meeting by Statesboro-based tax lawyer Jeffrey Williamson, a Pembroke native and Bryan County High School graduate.
Williamson, who offered to set up the foundation at no charge to the BoE, said such an organization -- perhaps called Bryan County Educational Foundation -- wouldn’t compete with other fundraising groups.
