Arts on the Coast (AOC) presents ArtNite, Celebrating Wildlife in All Its Forms, an art, food, drink and live music event on Friday, Oct. 25 at the Richmond Hill Welcome Center, 10750 Ford Avenue.

An opening reception begins that evening from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided, along with entertainment by the Savannah band Whiskey and Wine.

The show runs from Oct. 25 until Jan. 13, 2020.

Arts on the Coast board member Heather Young commented, “I think that we’ll all be thinking and travelling ‘outside of our boxes’ for this show. I can’t wait!”

Living in a coastal area, local artists tend to focus on recreating its surrounding beauty – the marsh, plant life, and indigenous animals. So, this redirection of subject matter and venue really sparked interest and enthusiasm within the group, members said.

“AOC is always growing, not just as an organization, but more importantly, as a vehicle to invite our artists to think and to create beyond their comfort zones," said AOC president Sarah Volker. "We think that approaching wildlife, in all its forms and in any medium and style, will make this upcoming show fun for both the artist and the viewer!”

Guests at the evening reception can view new artwork, enjoy the music and refreshments, and meet and mingle with the artists and with many of their own neighbors, all in the beautifully restored Henry Ford building, formerly known as The Sweet Shop.
