Brenau University

Jamie Lynn Bunting of Richmond Hill achieved Brenau University dean’s list honors for the fall 2018 semester. Dean’s list students must maintain at least a 3.6 grade point average while carrying at least 15 semester hours of coursework.

Casey Qua and JaLynn Williams, both of Richmond Hill, made the merit list at Brenau University for the fall 2018 semester.

Mercer University

The following students from Richmond Hill were recently named to the dean’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2018 semester: Geena Denton, Alexandra Kroken, Marcela Niles, Mark Shepherd, Rachel Shepherd, William Shuman, Agboade Sobowale and Hannah Yontz.

Inclusion on this list requires students to meet rigorous grade-point-average standards specific to the college or school within the university.

The following students from Richmond Hill were recently named to the president’s list at Mercer University for the fall 2018 semester: Emily Bell, Luke Griffin and Michelle Jung.

Florida Tech

Chae Min Yoo of Richmond Hill has been named to the fall 2018 dean’s list at Florida Institute of Technology.

To be included on the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 or more graded credits in a semester with a semester grade point average of at least 3.4.

Georgia Tech

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximately 3,600 undergraduate and graduate students during the institute’s 256th commencement exercises on December 14-15, 2018, at the McCamish Pavilion, including: 

• Nicholas Korzik of Richmond Hill, Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering

• John Mikrut of Richmond Hill, Bachelor of Science in computer engineering • Nicholas Quan of Richmond Hill, Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering

• Kristen Sparks of Richmond Hill, Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering Veronica Thompson of Richmond Hill made the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester. Jacquelyn Buelow and Dany Shwayri, both of Richmond Hill, earned the distinction of faculty honors for fall 2018 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

Boston University

Boston University awarded academic degrees to 2,129 students in January 2019. Among the graduates was Laura E. Julius of Richmond Hill, who received a Master of Social Work in social work.

Georgia State

Ishani Patel of Richmond Hill earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University during December 2018. More than 1,700 students earned bachelor’s degrees from Georgia State University during the fall 2018 semester, with more than 3,000 students earning degrees at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, professional, specialist and doctoral degree levels.

University of Alabama

The University of Alabama awarded some 2,065 degrees during its fall commencement Dec. 15. Among them were: Jordan Del Sardo of Richmond Hill, B.S. in civil engineering. Amber Hagan of Richmond Hill, B.S. in human environmental science.

Dequiala Kelly and Samuel Impavido, both of Richmond Hill, were recently named to the dean’s list at the University of Alabama for the 2018 fall term.

To make the dean’s list, students must be enrolled full time and maintain an academic record of 3.5 or above.Jordan Del Sardo and Troy Watley, both of Richmond Hill, were recently named to the president’s list at the University of Alabama for the 2018 fall term.

To make the president’s list, students must be enrolled full time and maintain an academic record of 4.0.

Citadel

Odalys C. Deaza of Richmond Hill was recently named to the dean’s list at the Citadel for the fall 2018 semester. The dean’s list is a recognition given to cadets and students who are registered for 12 or more semester hours and whose grade point average is 3.20 or higher, with no grade of I (Incomplete) and no grade below C for work in a semester.

Clemson University

Dana M. Vanderheyden of Richmond Hill was recently named to the dean’s list at Clemson University for the fall 2018 semester.

To be named to the dean’s list, a student achieved a grade-point average between 3.50 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Robert Fred Tucker III of Richmond Hill has been named to the president’s list at Clemson University for the fall 2018 semester.

To be named to the president’s list, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average.

Kennesaw State

Kennesaw State University recently welcomed its newest class of graduates. More than 2,000 students earned bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees during Fall 2018 commencement ceremonies in December.

Recent graduates include Garrett Garner of Ellabell and Meredith Succi of Richmond Hill.

The following Richmond Hill residents were recently named to the president’s list at Kennesaw State University for the fall 2018 semester: Chesney Bromm, Alexander Eubanks, Teresa Pham, Alison Miller and Peter Sullivan.

To achieve this honor, each student must have completed at least 9 semester hours with a term grade point average of 4.0.
