These are the most popular apps of 2017

Apple unveiled its most popular apps of the year on Thursday, and the company Snap owned the top of the list.

Both Bitmoji and Snapchat finished at the top two spots on the list. Both of the apps are owned by Snap, the company that rose to popularity because of the Snapchat app.

Snapchat previously held the top spot on the list. But that should be expected, according to Mashable.

As we previously noted, Bitmoji has seen explosive growth over the last year and a half as it's steadily integrated the app's customizable emoji into Snapchat, Mashable reported.

Meanwhile, Facebook secured the fourth, fifth and sixth spots with Messenger, Instagram and Facebook, respectively.

Google earned the third, seventh, 11th and 18th spots with YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail and Google Chrome.

Apple also revealed its top music and movie purchase of the year. Drakes More Life album topped the list, while Ed Sheerans Shape of You won song of the year.

Moana was the top-downloaded movie, followed closely by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Wonder Woman.
