The Small World Festival Committee is accepting vendor applications and cultural entertainment proposals for its Saturday, May 11, event at Bryant Commons in downtown Hinesville. The international cultural celebration will feature a world marketplace, international food court and cultural entertainment.
The festival is from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., with a welcome ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at the venue’s newly built amphitheater.
The world marketplace is a vendor showcase of crafts, artwork and merchandise from various countries and cultures around the world. There also will be numerous demonstrations, exhibits and children’s activities. Snacks, meals and desserts will be on sale at the international food court.
Vendors who register by March 1 will receive a reduced fee of $50. The regular vendor fee for a single booth is $75 from March 1 through April 13. Late registration will be open until May 1 with a fee of $100.
Musicians, dancers, storytellers, demonstrators and other entertainers are encouraged to submit proposals as soon as possible for this year’s entertainment lineup.
“The Small World Festival in Hinesville was held in the 1980s-’90s in celebration of the numerous countries and cultures represented in the area, many of which come to the community by way of military personnel who have traveled the world, have international family members and even represent various cultures themselves,” Hinesville Mayor Jim Thomas said.
In 2012, the Small World Festival drew more than 5,000 to downtown Hinesville.
