The Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce will host a political forum 23 from at the Richmond Hill City Center.

Networking will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the formal program will be from 6-8 p.m.

The primary election set for July 31 is a countywide election, and all candidates who have qualified for their respective races have been invited to attend. Due to time constrains, only those candidates in contested races will be given an opportunity to speak during the formal presentation.

In addition, there will be a TSPLOST update. In addition to the primary election, on July 31 voters in Georgia will get a choice to approve a 1 percent sale tax to fund transportation needs in their communities.

Local officials developed a list of high-needs projects in their region requiring funding in order to maintain existing transportation facilities, improve accessibility and reduce congestion. This funding is specific to transportation projects in the Coastal Region and Bryan County.

The TSPLOST presentation will be facilitated by Ray Pittman and Mike Sisco, co-chairs of the Bryan County TSPLOST Committee.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this free candidate forum to obtain information needed to cast an informed vote.
