Civilians in communities surrounding Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield are welcome to visit either installation Saturday for a post-wide yard sale.
The sales at Stewart and Hunter will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at post residences. No sales will be conducted at the Club Stewart parking lot on Stewart or the Credit Union parking lot at Hunter.
As of Oct. 14, 65 home sites — 50 at Stewart and 15 at Hunter — had been registered to take part in the sales. Some yard sales will be multifamily efforts, increasing the variety of items and bargain opportunities for buyers.
To enter the post, drivers must present registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license. Passengers in the vehicle also must present a photo ID.
Maps giving the location of sale sites on Hunter will be given out from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Rio Gate and at Hunter’s main gate on Montgomery Street.
At Fort Stewart, maps will be given out from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the main gate and at gate 5, the gate most often used by residents of Pembroke and Glennville.
This fall’s post-wide yard sale complements Operation Fall Cleanup, an installation-wide beautification, restoration and recycling effort at Stewart and Hunter.
