YOUR HEAD The third and most revealing trailer for Disney Pixars latest film Inside Out is now online, and its 2 1/2 minutes of fun.
The film focuses on those little voices in our heads that determine who we are and how we act.
Earlier trailers have given us a peek at the humor and clever anecdotes we can expect from Inside Out. Especially watching the husband and wife try to communicate nonverbally. Ive seen that trailer several times, and it makes me laugh every single time.
This new trailer, however, gives us some of that humor, but also the heart and emotion weve come to expect from great Pixar films. Anyone remember the Up opening? Yeah, youre crying just thinking about it.
The story of Inside Out focuses on the voices inside a young girls head and how shes affected when her joy and sadness voices get lost.
The film stars a solid cast that reads like an NBC alumni roster more than anything else. Featured voice actors include Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader, former The Office stars Phyllis Smith and Mindy Kaling, and former SNL cast member and Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler. The cast is one thing to get excited about, especially Hader and Poehler, but whats more exciting is the return to original storytelling from Pixar.
Pixar is known for creating jaw-dropping visuals and powerful storylines in phenomenal films like The Incredibles, Finding Nemo and Up.
Unfortunately, its been a while since weve seen that caliber of film.
While some of the films have been fun like Monsters University, and Brave, they havent quite been as solid as the original Toy Story, or the three that have already been mentioned. Also, the less said about Cars 2 the better.
According to this latest trailer, it appears Pixar is getting back on its game, and were in for one of the best family adventures that 2015 has to offer.
Inside Out is scheduled for release June 19.
