Skidaway Island State Park will have a Coastal Geocaching Festival on Nov. 12-13, at the park, 15 miles southeast of Savannah on Diamond Causeway.
Geocaching enthusiasts from across the state will gather at the park in celebration of the world’s largest treasure hunt. From 7-11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, participants should bring flashlights for a night-time cache hunt. Afterward, hunters will join rangers for a giant marshmallow roast and music.
Saturday, Nov. 13 will be filled with geocaching games and prizes, tips from members of the Georgia Geocachers Association and an appearance from the Georgia State Parks gopher.
There is a $5 parking fee, and campsite rentals are available for $25-$28 campsites. Reservations are recommended.
