You can perform triple duty this holiday: recycle, volunteer and decorate?

Start by bringing empty gallon, half gallon and two-liter plastic bottles to the FMWR office on Fort Stewart so eco-friendly decorations can be made. Your recyclables are needed through Dec. 9. Watch those jugs turn into something worth a wow.

Second, volunteers are needed, based upon your time, to ecorate Holbrook Pond from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 2-11. The area is expected to be transformed with lights, various Christmas trees, decorative sets, and more.

Individuals need bring only a desire to paint, hang, hook and tie various items. Plus, it would be a good time to get those volunteer hours in for the year.

Units, organizations, directorates and groups are invited to pick a plot and decorate to their hearts’ content. Decorations will remain in place through Dec. 26, as Holbrook will be one of the sites to stroll around and drive through holiday sites.

Interested? Call Jennifer Scales at 767-6212 or Bill Cooney at 767-4316.
