Marne Lanes Bowling Center is offering two Christmas Eve opportunities for bowling fun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Get into the spirit of Christmas with friends and family and enjoy two hours of bowling, shoe rentals, and a bottomless pitcher of soda for up to six people for $24.95. That's a savings of $28.05 from the $53 regular price.
Bowl a hambone (four strikes in a row) during that time and you'll get a free bowling pass for each hambone bowled.
There's something special for kids, too, on Christmas Eve. They can bowl for $1.

Celebrate New Year's at Club Stewart
Come to Club Stewart's New Year's Eve Party and welcome 2012 with everything you need for a memorable time; champagne, a selection of musical entertainment, party hats, a balloon drop and good food.
Club Stewart will offer five rooms of entertainment, with deejays spinning top 40, old skool, hip hop, reggae, jazz, Latin and more. The fun starts at 9 p.m. Dec. 31 and continues until 3 a.m. The party is for those 18 and older.
Be among the first to buy tickets. The first 500 guests will receive a split of champagne free.
The cost is $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door. Advance tickets are available at the club.
Food will be available at an additional cost. The buffet before midnight costs $9.50 per person and has pepper steak, fried pork chops, fried chicken, buffalo wings, rice and macaroni and cheese. The after midnight buffet menu is scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. The cost is $7.50 per person.

Family fun at Corkan on New Year's Eve
Bring the whole family and enjoy year-ending fun at Corkan Family Fun Center, where all recreation facilities will be open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 31. For details, call 767-4273. Corkan offers something for all family members - Cypress Sam's Tree House for the children, Stewart Lanes Bowling, laser tag, the 3-D rock climbing wall and roller skating.

Thunder Run reopens Jan. 3
Thunder Run Restaurant will serve its customers from the Palmetto Room of Club Stewart beginning Jan. 3. The restaurant has temporarily moved out of its regular site to allow an eight-month, three-phase energy conservation project at the club.

Club Stewart's south entrance closing
Beginning Jan. 1, the south entrance to Club Stewart and Stewart Bingo will be closed to accommodate the renovation project to reduce energy use. Patrons are asked to enter the club through the north side. For more information, call 368-2212.

Family fun kickball at Corkan
Corkan Family Fun Center is bringing back all the fun of family kickball indoors, from 6-8:30 p.m. on Jan. 2. You can play again during the same hours on Jan. 23.

Golf special
Taylors Creek Golf Course and Hunter Golf Club will offer an "All You Can Play" special during January and February.
Taylors Creek and Hunter members, active duty, retirees and Army civilians can play as long as they like for $20, not including the golf cart. The price for civilian guests will be $25.

Youth track & field, soccer sign-up
Registration for youth track & field and spring soccer begins Jan. 3 and ends Feb. 17 at Parent Central Services on Gulick Avenue.
Sports programs are open to youth of Fort Stewart CYSS living on or off post. Track & field is open to ages 7-14 (as of Dec. 31, 2012) and soccer is open to ages 4-13 (as of March 1).
Parent Central Services is open by appointment only 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and from 8 a.m.-noon on Friday. Walk-ins are welcome on Wednesday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 767-2312. If you have a user ID, you may also register online at https://webtrac.mwr.army.mil/webtrac/stewartcyms.html. Volunteers are always needed to coach teams.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer coach, visit the Youth Sports Office inside Jordan Youth Gym on West 6th Street and request a volunteer packet. Volunteers are required to undergo a background check.

Ski and sightseeing in Gatlinburg
Join Leisure Travel Services for a shopping, skiing and sightseeing trip Jan. 13-15 to Gatlinburg, Tenn. The deadline for registration is Jan. 6.
Travel on a luxury bus to Gatlinburg, where you can ride the mountains at Obergatlinburg Resort by ski, snow boards or tubing and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Smokey Mountains.
The $450 pays for hotel and transportation. The price does not cover ski and snowboard rentals, but there will be a military discount given.

MLK Basketball Tournament
Registration is under way for the first of what is to become the annual Martin Luther King Basketball Tournament at Newman Fitness Center from Jan. 13-15.
The competition will consist of double elimination tournament play, with a maximum of 12 teams in the competition. The tournament also will include a slam dunk contest and a 3-point shootout contest.
The military entry fee is $150 per team. The cost for non-military competitors is $200 per team. The cost is $10 per individual for slam dunk and 3-point shooting contests.
All teams must be signed up by Jan. 6 and must present a roster with a minimum of seven players. Awards will be presented to first and second-place teams.

Red Sails in the Sunset Trip
