'Dirty Up' run is Saturday

Dirty Up Flight Line 5K/10K on Hunter at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The public is invited to run in the Dirty Up Flight Line 5K/10K on Hunter at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The unit that signs up the most soldiers (minimum 30) will receive $500 in unit funds, a prize sponsored by Omni Financial.

All pre-registered runners will get T-shirts, and awards will be given to the top two winners in each age group. After the race there will be displays of military aircraft, vendors, music and more. Register online at Active.com.

Registration costs $30 for DOD ID card holders and $35 each for others until Thursday. The fee is $45 per person on day of the run. For more information, call 315-5078.

 

Caribbean cruise

Plan now to set sail on an 8-day eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Sunshine.

Sail dates are Oct. 10-18, 2015, with stops at St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Grand Turk. Register by July 18.

Inside cabins are $702.55 per person, ocean-view cabins are $852.55 per person and balconies are $1,032.55.

Junior Golf Daze

Youth, ages 6-12, can play Taylors Creek Golf Course in a team format from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesdays through July 15. Register by June 23.

Juniors are encouraged to bring their own equipment. However, clubs will be provided for those who do not have their own. The $39.95 cost covers all four rounds and lunch after each round.

Junior golf camp

Hunter Golf Course will host a camp for youth (ages 7-13), from 8 to 9:30 a.m. June 23 and 24. Enroll by June 22.

The cost is $40 per person. The camp is to develop skills at all levels. It includes putting mechanics, approach shots, rules and etiquette.

Juniors are encouraged to bring their own equipment. However, clubs will be provided for those who do not have any.

Girlfriend laser tag

This month's Girlfriend Nite Out adventure is Laser Tag at Corkan Family Fun Center from 2-8 p.m. June 27. The cost is $2 per game. For more information, call 767-4273.

Test drive a GM vehicle and visit a variety of displays from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 27 at the Newman Fitness Center parking lot. Win T-shirts and ask how you can get a $10 AAFES gift card, just for taking a test drive.

On display will be the 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500, Chevy Camaro 2LT, Chevy Cruze Diesel, Chevy Equinox, Buick Regal GS and 2015 GMC Sierra HD.

Golf clinics

Learn golf fast, fun and free from 9-10 a.m. June 28 at Hunter Golf Course. It is one of four “Golf for Life” clinics that cover a new topic each time. Beginners learn the basics while novice improve their game.

"Get Golf Ready"

Enroll before June 28 for the “Get Golf Ready” five-lesson program at Taylors Creek Golf Course.

The first 90-minute lesson is 10:30 a.m.–noon June 28. Remaining lessons are July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2. Open to beginners and novices.

Learn mechanics, putting, short game, rules and etiquette. The $99 per person cost covers all five lessons.

The next session of lessons runs Aug. 30, Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27. For more information, call 767-2370.

 

Two-person best ball

Sign-up now for a 36-hole, best ball golf tournament at Cherokee Rose Country Club on June 28 and at Taylors Creek Golf Course on June 29. Players should register by June 23.

Two-person teams will be flighted after the first round. There will be women's senior men's divisions.

The $75 per-player cost includes two days of 18-hole greens and cart fees, prizes, beverages and food.

Hunter GC’s scramble  

Bring a 4-person team or join one in the Hunter Garrison Commander’s Golf Scramble July 11 at Hunter Golf Course. Play begins at 9 a.m. Players are asked to register by July 9.
