Church's Christmas comedy carries message of season
Best Christmas Pageant Ever
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever plays at Savannah Christian Church Thursday through Sunday.

This month, Savannah Christian Church presents a funny and heartwarming Christmas musical.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” tells the story of the Herdman family: the worst group of kids in town. They lie, steal, smoke cigars and hit little kids. So the townspeople are horrified when this unruly group of six siblings invades the church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant. As the protests increase, the pageant director becomes even more determined to make it work.

“The Herdmans have never attended church or even heard the Christmas story,” said Wayne Sullivan, drama pastor at Savannah Christian Church. “Their interpretation of the tale leads to some highly comedic moments and a very unique pageant.”

As the Herdmans experience the Christmas story for the first time, they help everyone else rediscover its true meaning, making this the best Christmas pageant ever.

The production has already started at Savannah Christian Church’s Henderson Campus. Tickets and more information are available at SavannahChristian.com.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Dec. 13. Savannah Christian Church is at 55 Al Henderson Blvd., Savannah.
