The Commanding General’s Golf Scramble, which will select teams with blind draw, will start at noon Jan. 31 at Taylors Creek Golf Course.

Players are asked to sign up by Jan. 30. Teams will be adjusted to accommodate unusual draws.

The $35-per-player cost will include golf cart, range balls and prizes, which will be based on the number of players.

Bistro nights

Beginning Jan. 31, Friday is Bistro Night at Thunder Run in Club Stewart.

Four-course meals will cost $10.95 for adults and $6.95 for children, ages 3-10. Younger children eat free. The price includes salad bar, chef's choice of appetizer, entree and dessert. How does a filet mignon or Southwestern chicken sound? It’s all waiting for you every Friday.

Okefenokee trip

Black history tour

Take the Freedom Trail tour of Savannah on Feb. 8 with Leisure Travel and see remnants of the Underground Railroad that moved slaves north during the early 1800s. See where slaves were brought and sold, and Savannah's African-American monument.

Costs are $30 for adults and $20 for children (ages 6-12) and include transportation. Registration will close on Feb. 3.

Valentine’s dinner

Couples are invited to a romantic night out from 6-9 Feb. 14 at Thunder Run Restaurant in Club Stewart.The cost is $35 per couple for a four-course meal and music.

Tutu and bow ties

Dress your toddlers up in their best tutu or bow tie for a Valentine’s Day Party at Corkan Family Fun Center, from 10 a.m. until noon Feb. 14. Table setting and fruit drinks provided.

A free Ladies on the Links clinic from 9-11 a.m. Feb. 15 at Hunter Golf Club covers various aspects of the game, from rules to swing mechanics.

Atlanta vs. New York

Cardboard boats

Using only cardboard and duct tape, could you build a boat?

Cardboard Boat Regattas are scheduled at Newman Indoor Swimming Pool on Stewart and Tominac Indoor Swimming Pool on Hunter at 10 a.m. Feb. 22. There’s no charge to compete, and you might win a prize. Paddles provided.

There are three categories: Kids, Kid/Adult and Adult. There also will be a prize for the Best-Looking Boat.

Active duty, family and other authorized facility users are welcome to participate.
