Bingo parlors add Thursday Challenge

The new Thursday Night Challenge beginning this week from 4 p.m.-midnight at Hunter/Stewart Bingo, features new games, new jackpots, more prize money and intermission specials. Lightning before and after session play. Eleven $250 games, jackpots up to $9K and $1,500 coverall. The cost to play ranges from $13-$40. Bass tournament

Get ready to start reeling in the bass.

The first of five catch-and-release Marne Trail Bass Tournaments will be at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at Glisson Mills Pond on Fort Stewart. Cash prizes are $250 for first-place (total weight, five-fish maximum per person) and $100 for the largest bass. Door prize drawings after weigh-in at 11 a.m.

Fee is $25 for soldiers, retirees and their family members and youth, 15 and younger, and $35 for the civilians.

Toddler egg hunt

Bring your toddlers, up to age 5, to the free Corkan Easter Egg Hunt at Cypress Creek Adventure Golf on March 24. Hunt begins at 10 a.m. Bring your own basket. For more information, call 912-767-4273.

 

Golf clinic

Interested in learning golf, or need to brush up on your game? Taylors Creek Golf Course will have a Men’s and Women’s Golf Clinic from 4-5 p.m. March 24. The cost is $10 per person. Clubs available without charge. For more information, call 912-767-2370.

 

Hunter course re-opening

Registration has begun for the Commander's Golf Scramble in conjunction with the grand reopening of Hunter Golf Course. The 4-person scramble will begin at 8 a.m. on March 25. Parent/child golf

Get Golf Ready for parents and children is coming to Taylors Creek Golf Course from 1-2 p.m. March 26 and April 30. PGA player John Fesperman will introduce the teams to the swing, course and game. Kids bowl free

Easter brunch

Celebrate Easter with brunch at Club Stewart with friends and family. The public is welcome.

The menu will feature a carving station, side dishes and desserts. Serving from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27.

Save $3 per adult and $1 per child by buying tickets befor March 25: $14.95 for adults, $6.45 for children ages 3-10. Children younger than 2 eat free.

Spring Carnival

Spring Carnival, with all its sights, sounds and fun, is coming to Fort Stewart’s Walker Field March 31-April 3. The public is welcome.

The carnival will feature rides, games, food and concessions, including a beer garden. Ticket prices start at $1.

Hours are:

• March 31: 5-10 p.m.

• April 1: 5 p.m.-midnight

• April 2: Noon – midnight

• April 3: 1 p.m.-10 p.m.

Civilians should enter Fort Stewart at Gate 1 on General Screven Way. Pets, coolers, outside food and glass bottles are prohibited.

All-Army qualifier race

Soldiers are invited to compete in All-Army 10 Miler qualifier race at Donovan Field Track. First qualifier is at 6 a.m. April 2. Second is at 6 a.m. May 7. Register before April 2 at Stewart's Bennett Sports Complex, 912-767-8238, or at the raceat 5:30 a.m. Family members, retirees and DoD civilians welcome to run for fun. Color run

Be prepared to sparkle as you pass different glitter powder stations in Extreme Color Run/Walk Glitter Edition 5K starting at 9 a.m. April 16 in the Holbrook Pond Recreation Area.

The run supports Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and is open to the public.

Register online using WebTrac or visit Stewart/Hunter Leisure Travel offices. Cost is $20 until March 29, goes up to $30 until April 14, and then $40.

Run is open to everyone. Strollers and school aged children's bicycles are welcome, but not pets.

Intramural softball

Companies interested in playing intramural softball should submit a memo to their sports office before April 15. Season starts April 25. There is no charge. White water rafting

Registration now for an overnight trip to the National White Water Center in North Carolina July 16. Lodging will be at Holiday Inn Express, which will serve breakfast. Cost is $150 per person, which covers transportation, lodging and band performances. A payment plan is available. An option to visit Carowinds at additional cost will be offered. Pre-K lottery

Registration continues until April 6 for the free, Georgia-funded CYSS Pre-Kindergarten on Fort Stewart and Hunter child care centers. A drawing for slots will be on April 7.
