The Armstrong Department of Art, Music & Theatre holds fall auditions for the Masquers theater troupe and for various music ensembles including wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, choirs, and orchestra. Call (912) 344-2556 during normal business hours to schedule an audition.

Aug. 15 to Sept. 9: The Armstrong Department of Art, Music & Theatre presents a solo art exhibition of guest artist Christina Bray in the Armstrong Fine Arts Gallery. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays. Admission is free. Call 344-2801 from noon to 3 p.m., weekdays, for information.

Aug. 22-24: The Armstrong Masquers student troupe announces auditions for three of its fall season productions: Blind Luck, Two Rooms, and The Drowsy Chaperone, open to the public, beginning at 6 p.m. in Armstrong Jenkins Hall Theater. Call 344-2801 from noon to 3 p.m., weekdays, for information.

Aug. 25: The Armstrong Department of Art, Music & Theatre presents Anthony Kennedy, trombone, and Paul Vogel, tuba, in student recital at 2:30 p.m. in Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is free. Call 344-2801 from noon to 3 p.m., weekdays, for information.

Aug. 25-27: The Armstrong Masquers kickoff the season with "Simon Says", a three night repertory run of Neil Simon comedies. Productions include The Odd Couple: Female Version, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, and Barefoot in the Park. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. in Armstrong Jenkins Hall Theater. General admission: Only $10. Discounts available to military, seniors, alumni association members, and students/children. Armstrong staff, faculty, and students presenting valid Armstrong PirateCard will be admitted free of charge. Call 344-2801 from noon to 3 p.m., weekdays, for information.

Aug. 27: The Armstrong Atlantic Youth Orchestra program is holding auditions for the 2011-12 season, open to students enrolled in primary grades through high school and including Armstrong students (available for course credit). Auditions, by appointment, are in Armstrong Fine Arts Hall. Openings in Debut Strings, Lyric Strings Ensembles, Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, and AAYO.
