Auditions set for 'Steel Magnolias'

SAVANNAH — Savannah’s Cultural Arts Theatre will hold auditions for its fall production of “Steel Magnolias” at 6 p.m. Monday-Tuesday, Aug. 2-3, at S.P.A.C.E. Gallery’s Black Box Theater, 9 W. Henry St.  
Set in a small-town beauty parlor, the story celebrates the friendship of six women and their shared joys and tragedies in life. Equally comedic and heartwarming, the play touches on universal topics such as friendship, community, death and grief.
Directed by Ellie Pyle, the production requires a cast of six women, ages 18-70. Women of all ethnicities are encouraged to audition. Scripts will be provided. Callbacks will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4.
