Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg develop and interesting relationship in "2 Guns." - photo by Studio photo

The adrenaline-fueled crime caper “2 Guns,” is now in theaters and starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Did the movie shoot to kill? Let’s find out.
Wahlberg and Washington appear to be two bad guys about to rob a bank, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Washington is an undercover DEA agent, while Wahlberg is an undercover Navy intelligence officer. Both believe they are robbing a Mexican crime lord for a worthy cause. Next thing they know, they’ve successfully stolen much more money than either can carry, and the cash turns out to be the illegal slush fund of the CIA.
This film mixes action, crime and laughs into a deadly little cocktail. Washington and Wahlberg, as well as supporting actors Bill Paxton, James Marsden and Edward James Olmos, are excellent. In fact, I don’t know where he went, but Paxton is back, baby. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention actress Paula Patton’s awkward scenes, but she is beautiful nonetheless.
My favorite thing about “2 Guns” is the fact that it has become the best buddy movie in probably the last decade. And Wahlberg is hilarious. He makes the film a real pleasure.
I have to compare “2 Guns” to the other action films available, and when you consider movies like Jason Statham’s “Parker,”  John Cusack’s “The Numbers Station,” Bruce Willis in “Red 2,” Colin Ferrell in “Dead Man Down” and Aaron Eckhart in “Erased,” “2 Guns” is a cut above them (although “Erased” is worth seeing).
The movie’s sharp script, which doesn’t have any real plot holes, also is applause-worthy.
I’m a fan!
