Jonathan, Thomas and Phillip Brunson are proud to announce the marriage of their father, Stephen “Steve” Randall Brunson, to Lisa Michelle Summerford. Lisa and Steve were wed June 1, 2013, in a private ceremony at the Brunson home in Statesboro with Clint Sullens, pastor of Olive Branch Baptist Church, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gail Summerford and the late Bill Summerford of Lanier. The groom is the son of Ronald Brunson and the late Margaret Brunson of Isle of Hope.
Lisa received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She is a public health nurse with the Southeast Health District.
Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University. He is an operations shift manager at Hatch Nuclear Power Plant.
Five nephews, Frankie Brunson, Drew Long, Gavin Long, Will Summerford and Walker Summerford, started the ceremony carrying a surprise banner reading, “Uncle Steve, here comes your bride.”
Four nieces, Marian Brunson, Peyton Smith, Lacey Howell and Emma Gail Long, served as flower girls.
The couple’s family enjoyed a reception after the ceremony. Lisa and Steve honeymooned in Hilton Head Island and now reside in Statesboro.
