Oct. 6: Common Threads - With colder weather on its way, what better time to learn to crochet or knit? The Richmond Hill Public Library’s Common Threads group meets at 10 a.m. with the goal of learning, fellowship and improving skills of knitters of all skill levels. You may also choose to don te your finished pieces to Project Linus or Warm Up America, which accept blankets and hats for the needy. For more information, call 756-3580.

Line Dance Party - South Bryan County Recreation sponsors this night of dancing instruction and fun. Learn line dances including the Electric Slide, Bus Stop, Good Times, Tush Push and more. Shred Day - Head over to Bryan Bank’s main branch (9971 Ford Ave.) from 12-3 p.m. with all of the sensitive documents you wish to destroy. Have some refreshments and enjoy free gifts while you’re there. Those in a hurry can utilize the drive-through shredding service. Shredding is free and open to all. Visit for more information.

Tybee Island Pirate Fest - Shiver your timbers at this pirate-themed weekend extravaganza featuring live music (headliner Eddie Money will hit the stage at 9 p.m. on this night), activities for kids, pirate costume contest, marketplace and more.
