June 29: Story time performance  – The Richmond Hill Public Library presents “storymaker” Sean Driscoll for a 2 p.m. performance at First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill (9184 Ford Ave.). Driscoll’s story time performances include animation, puppets, magic, music, and audience participation. For more information, please call the library at 756-3580.

July 2:
Richmond Hill Salutes the Red, White and Blue
– Join friends, family and neighbors for the annual July Fourth celebration in J.F. Gregory Park, sponsored this year by the city of Richmond Hill. The festivities will take place from 5-10 p.m. and will include entertainment by the Paris Luna band, a variety of foods, and a fireworks display at nightfall. Event will take place rain or shine and admission is free.

July 3:
Civil War baseball game  –
It’s blue vs. gray at Fort Pulaski’s annual period ball game, which is played according to 1860s baseball rules. Game starts at 1 p.m. and admission costs $5 per person. Kids 15 and under get in free. For details, visit www.nps.gov/fopu or call 786-5787.

July 4:
Fourth of July at Fort McAllister  –
Fort McAllister State Historic Park will host an Independence Day program from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pack a lunch and come prepared to play games of the period. Ice-cold watermelon will be served. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.75 for children. For more information, call 727-2339.
