June 2: Richmond Hill Historical Society meeting  – Writer and producer Arcelious Daniels presents a screening of the award-winning documentary “Stubborn as a Mule,” about the “40 acres and a mule” reparations made to freed slaves after the Civil War at this month’s meeting. Screening will begin at 7 p.m. at the museum (corner of Ford Ave. and Timber Trail) and there will be a question and answer session with the directors afterwards. June 4:
Kids Fishing Derby –
The 21st annual Kids Fishing Derby, presented by the Richmond Hill Exchange Club, will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery on Hwy. 144. Derby is open to children ages 15 and under, accompanied by a parent or guardian, with awards for ages 12 and under. To learn more, visit www.rhxc.org.

Dahlke Memorial Adventure Challenge  –
Hosted by Energy Oasis, this race in memory of Staff Sgt. Jason Dahlke involves checkpoint finding and various physical challenges. Race will take place at Ft. McAllister at 10 a.m. and costs $65 per person. Visit www.energy-oasis.com or call 756-5865 for details.
