Dawn of the Zombies 5K — From 8-11 a.m. at Holbrook Pond on Fort Stewart, a 5K like no other will take place. The swampland zombies of Holbrook will be lurking throughout the trail area, trying to “eat” (take the flags of) runners. Participants, known as humans, will need to run or walk past and around zombies to keep their flags, which represents their lives. After the humans cross the finish line, the flags will be counted to see which group has the most — humans or zombies. This 5K is untimed, and the trail will consist of asphalt, gravel, dirt, mud and other uneven surfaces. Registration costs $40 the day of the race. Costumes are encouraged. For more information, call 435-8213.
