Oct. 10-13: Tybee Island Pirate Festival — Get ready for some swashbuckling fun with live music, children’s activities and a Pirate Victory Parade. Historically, Tybee Island has hosted the Pirate Festival every Columbus Day weekend, thrilling guests with costume contests and a complete transformation of the city into a bustling pirate village. Oct. 10-12
The 63rd annual Greek Festival — It’s three days of Greek food, music and heritage at the Hellenic Center on 14 W. Anderson St. in Savannah. The event, sponsored by St. Paul’s Greek Orthodox Church will feature homemade Greek food and desserts as well as dancing, church tours and a live band. The festival runs from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. each day. It is free to the public, though guests are asked to support the event with a $2 donation. For more information, call 236-8256. 

Oct. 13:
Teeing Off for Evan — It’s the first golf tournament in memory of Evan Nelms, the 5-year-old Richmond Hill boy who lost his battle with acute myeloid leukemia in April. All proceeds go to the annual Light the Night Walk in Savannah on Oct. 18. Participants can register at noon at Southbridge Golf Club in Savannah and then tee off at 1 p.m. Guests will convene at Hooters of Savannah after the event for food, winner announcements and prize presentations.
