July 26: 2013 Georgia 11/12 Little League Championship — Friday marks the last day of the tournament. Come out and support your favorite Little-Leaguers in the championship game of the series. The concessions stand opens at 9 a.m. and serves snacks and drinks until noon. A DJ will introduce the teams at 10 a.m. and play will begin shortly after that. Savannah Sand Gnats Community Night and Fireworks — St. Joseph’s/Candler and KIX 96 FM are inviting fans to lend a helping hand before the game. Spectators who bring a canned food item with them earn free admission and are welcome to stick around for a fireworks show after the game. Hurricane preparedness workshops — In an effort to prepare Coastal Empire residents for the hurricane season, Home Depot stores throughout the Savannah-area will host hurricane preparedness workshops on from 10-11:30 a.m. Home Depot experts will answer questions and explain hurricane readiness topics such as storm prep projects, generator safety and assembling disaster preparedness kits.
