American Post 27 in Richmond Hill recently elected new officers for 2012, according to post Commander Bill Helms.
The new officers are as follows: Bill Helms, commander; Fleming Stevens, senior vice commander; Max Spencer, junior vice commander; David James, adjutant; Philip Wolfe, finance officer/chaplain; and Grover Mixel, sergeant of arms.
Also, American Legion Post 27 now has land for a post building. The group is asking veterans and active military to join and assist with functions and events to help raise funds to obtain and maintain a facility.
