Two-year-old Eden Carlson was supposed to be playing with her older siblings while her mom was in the shower, but she slipped away and wandered in the swimming pool. Somehow, she passed the baby gate and fell into the water.

She was in the pool for about 15 minutes, submerged. The water was only five degrees celsius (37 degrees fahrenheit).

She had no heartbeat

When little Eden was found and pulled out of the pool, she had no heartbeat, and wasnt supposed to survive, but miraculously lived.

However, this experience left her with serious brain damage, and according to FaithIt, Eden "was unable to walk or talk, and her parents were told that she would never be able to speak, walk, eat on her own or react to her surroundings ever again.

Edens parents were living every parents worst nightmare. They were absolutely desperate for anything to help their sweet daughter, and according to USA Today, their only hope was a miracle.

They were searching for a miracle

They came across an experimental treatment at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine, and decided to give it a try. 55 days after the near-death experience, Eden started receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

According to USA Today, Oxygen administered at sea-level pressure filled Edens nose for 45 minutes, twice a day. Eden started hyperbaric oxygen therapy, breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber, five days a week.

After a few months of this treatment, the miracle Edens parents were looking for finally presented itself. Eden laughed for the first time. And according to USA Today, she moved her arms, hands and eyes. She could speak.

They reversed Edens brain damage

Paul Harch, the Clinical Professor and Director of Hyperbaric Medicine at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine was able to reverse this little childs brain damage. He said, The startling regrowth of tissue in this case occurred because we were able to intervene early in a growing child, before long-term tissue degeneration.

The delighted parents are sharing Edens story to help others, and let everyone know miracles do happen. In a heartwarming video, her parents show the progress Eden has made since the therapy treatments. She is now able to stand up, walk with a little help, talk and play.

Now theyre helping others

Her mom wrote on Facebook, It is exciting that many children and others with brain injuries are now aware of the hyperbaric oxygen therapy and are getting some help because of [Edens] story It has been humbling to see and know that her story is so much bigger than our family.

This little girl is a walking miracle, and her story will hopefully inspire others to hope and receive their very own miracle.
