Surrender your life to His control

In Psalm 13, David says, “I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.” Have you ever asked yourself this question, “How has God been good to me?”
If you are a true follower of Christ, at the top of that list should be the salvation of your soul, which brought about the forgiveness of your sins, peace and eternal life. It goes much deeper than just that statement, for God sacrificially loves us even to the extent of allowing his own Son to die for our sins — and we don’t have to experience the punishment we deserve for our forgiven sins.
Another way God shows his goodness is that he cares that our needs are met. He has promised that we will not want of the necessities of life, but to be honest I don’t know too many believers who lack in the area of a lot of wants. God also gives us of his Spirit to comfort us in times of grief and to guide us in times of indecision.
Some might ask, “If God is so good, why does he allow hurt or heartache or problems to come into my life?” I believe some things we experience that we don’t like are for our eventual good. They build character and faith that are needed for us to be effective as Christians in this life.  God also shows his goodness to us by bringing into our lives relationships with others who walk with us on the journey. I could go on and on, but if you have a relationship with God through his Son, you can quickly add to this list.
If you are not yet a follower of Christ, God does want to show his goodness to you. But you have to surrender your life to his control, then you will be saying, “God is so good to me.”
