“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” — 1 Peter 2:9

When I was a little boy in school, there were lists that many of us didn’t want to see our names on — the then-chalkboard (today it is a whiteboard) for acting up in class or the list left by the substitute teacher when we didn’t want to follow directions.
However, there also were lists that the majority of us wanted our names on, such as the principal’s list for doing well in class or having our names read over the intercom for our birthdays or doing something good at school.
Those lists were all right, but those of us who played any type of sports waited with baited breath to see if their names were on another list. If we made a sports team, we would seemingly have overnight fame. In our juvenile minds, we thought that we had made the school’s dream team.
If you are a sports enthusiast, you know that when it comes to the Olympics, there are teams put together that many consider dream teams. They consist of athletes who have seemingly extraordinary abilities to play their chosen sports. But did you know that God has a dream team, too? And on God’s dream team, it doesn’t  matter if you can play sports or not or if you are rich or poor. Color doesn’t matter with God.
God’s dream team consists of people from all walks of life from the youngest to the eldest, from those in the White House to those who used to be in the crack house or jail house. It consists of ordinary individuals who have chosen to follow Jesus.
How do you become a star player on God’s dream team? It is as easy as A-B-C:
• Admit to God that you are a sinner. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
• Believe in Jesus Christ as Savior of the world and your Savior. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
• Confess your sins to Jesus Christ and ask for his forgiveness. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
God has chosen you to be part of His dream team. Choose God today and become a star player.
