Mill Creek Baptist to honor oldest living member

Mill Creek Baptist Church will be honoring Sis. Ruby Benjaman on July 15 at 11:30 a.m.

Sis. Ruby Benjaman is the longest living member at Mill Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She was born on July 6, 1908 to the late Mr. Eli Brown and Mrs. Mollie Lucresse Williams Brown at their home in Ellabell.

She just recently celebrated her 99th birthday.

Sis. Benjaman attended Ellabell Grade School and joined Mill Creek Baptist Church of Ellabell at a very early age where she was a very active member; and active on many auxiliaries, including Tattnall Association Sunday School Convention, WMBS Society, Sunday School Treasurer, Class member of the Eastern Star Association Chapel Affectionate 489 Order, as well as many others until her health started to fail her.

Sis. Ruby Benjaman raised two children, Mary Brown Flowers of Savannah and Zater L. Benjaman (Barbra) of Miami, Fla.

She also has two grandsons: J. Bernard Flowers (Lisa), James S. Flowers (Valeria) both of Savannah, and eight great-grandchildren.

Members of Mill Creek Baptist Church wish Mrs. Benjamin many more birthdays and that God would continue to bless her and her family.
