Have you ever wished you could go back and do things differently? Have you ever wished that you could go back in time and make different decisions that took you to places that you would rather not be?
The truth is that no matter how hard we try, we just cannot go back. There are some consequences that we may have to endure till we leave this earth.
The good news is that even though we can’t do anything about the past, we can do something about our future. I think the Apostle Paul had the right idea in Philippians when he said he was, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.”
What we need to do is to start making right decisions that have much different and better consequences. Paul goes on in the next verse to reveal the secret to making really wise choices.
He says he was going to “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called (him) heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
In other words, he was going to do his best in finding God’s will and walk in it as he continued to follow Jesus Christ.
Some of you have started your journey in following Christ but have got off track by making some bad decisions. You need to confess your wrong doing to the Father, determining to learn from those decisions, and then trusting in the power of God to keep you from making them again.
Others need to start a new journey by making a decision to be a Christ follower trusting him to forgive all your past sins and bad decisions but also trusting every day to help you make right decisions in the future.
The Lord can bring complete transformation in your life if you will open up your life and let him lead you.
