Second Corinthians 5:20 says, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.” The writer here is saying that if the message of Jesus Christ is going to get out, it will be through his followers.
In other words, God has no back-up plan, no other means by which to get his message and word out to those who haven’t heard it.
This puts an awesome responsibility on those of us who claim to have received the benefits of Christianity: the forgiveness of sins, peace and eternal life.
When those around us are looking for answers to their problems and think about looking into Jesus, there is only one place to look — to those who claim to follow him.
The big question is, what are they seeing? Are they seeing a life that is being changed and transformed, or are they seeing a fake?
