Grief workshops

Free “Grief and the Holidays” workshops will be held next month in Richmond Hill and Hinesville.
Those needing help with grief issues as the holidays draw near can attend the following workshops:
• 6 p.m. Thursday at the United Way Service Center, 9611 Ford Ave. behind the library in Richmond Hill.
• 6 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Liberty Regional Medical Center classrooms at 462 E.G. Miles Parkway in Hinesville.

Saint Anne Catholic Church will hold a Catholic Relief Services and SERRV International Fair Trade Work Of Human Hands sale will be from noon-7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Saint Anne Holy Family Hall, 10550 Ford Ave. in Richmond Hill.
Handcrafted items from 22 countries will be available.

Veterans Day flag ceremony
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 164 will host its annual Veterans Day observance and flag ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday in Town Park in downtown Pembroke.  

Obamacare class

Free one-hour classes on the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Coastal Georgia Education Center, 305 Fahm St., Savannah.

Veterans Day observance
The city of Richmond Hill will observe Veterans Day at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 in J. F. Gregory Park.  
The observance will feature speakers, a 21-gun salute, posting of the colors, laying of the wreath and brick dedications by the Exchange Club and many more.

Educators meeting

The Bryan-Evans Retired Educators Association will have its monthly meeting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mrs. Roger’s Restaurant in Claxton.
There will be a presentation about Spanish Oaks Hospice Alzheimer and Dementia Care and Service in Claxton, and the general meeting will follow.  All retired educators are encouraged to attend.

Club meeting
The Richmond Hill Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Nov. 13 at the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center in J. F. Gregory Park.
The program will feature Barbara Minchey, a former Richmond Hill resident who will demonstrate setting up a worm farm in a plastic container to create compost for the garden.
Anyone interested in joining the club or simply learning about worm composting is encouraged to attend.
