Library closures: The Bryan County Libraries at Pembroke and Richmond Hill will be closed Thursday-Saturday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The library at Richmond Hill will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday. They will reopen at 10 a.m. Nov. 26.

Asperger support
The Richmond Hill Asperger Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Room of the Richmond Hill Public Library. Please note that this is the 4th Tuesday of the month due to Thanksgiving.
The group will discuss Power Parent, accommodations and strategies to help children succeed to their best abilities in school. Guest speakers will be Frank Williams and Laura Murphy from Bryan County Special Education Services.

Holiday events
Richmond Hill’s annual Chili Cook-off is set from 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 30 in J.F. Gregory Park and the city’s Christmas parade is at 10 a.m. Dec. 1.

Holiday flotilla
The annual Christmas on the Ogeechee Boat Parade and fireworks display will take place from dusk-9 p.m. Dec. 1 at Fish Tales and Fort McAllister Marina.

Winter Muster
Winter Muster and Battle, a re-enactment of the climactic battle of the March to the Sea, will be held from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Fort McAllister State Park.
Attendees will witness a re-enactment of the final assault for control of the fort at 5 p.m.
Costs to attend are $6.50 per adult and $3.75 per child.

Legion party
Active-duty military families in the Pembroke/Ellabell area are invited to the American Legion Post 164 Christmas Party at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the post home, a quarter-mile past Harvey’s Grocery on the Highway 280 West.
Santa is expected to stop by, and dinner will be served; meats, bread, tea, coffee, etc., will be provided, but members are asked to bring a side dish.

Firefighters needed
The Bryan County Fire Department needs volunteers. No experience is necessary; training will be provided, including the opportunity to become a certified firefighter in the state of Georgia.
