The city of Pembroke will hold a free swim day from noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the pool at the Dixie Harn Community Center on Lanier Street. Refreshments will be available starting at 11 a.m. as will information/sign up for the summer rec program. For more information, call the Dixie Harn Community Center at 653-4484.

Fishing derby
The Richmond Hill Exchange club will host its annual Kids Fishing Derby from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery. The derby is open to children 15 and under accompanied by their parents or adult guardian. Awards will be presented to children 12 and under. A large supply of free bait and fishing poles will be available at no charge.

Youth event
The first Fusion event will be from 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday at Pembroke United Methodist Church. Created by a group of North Bryan residents, Fusion is an event to give youth the chance to gather for praise, worship and fun. Bryan County High School football coach Mark Wilson will be the guest speaker. The event also includes music entertainment and refreshments. The event is free to middle and high school students. Dress is casual and Fusion T-shirts will be on sale for $10.

Church celebration
Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church will hold its Deacons and Deaconess 39th anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 16525 Highway 144, Richmond Hill. The theme will be “Deacons and Deaconess: Serving God Boldly in Perilous Times.” The messenger will be Elder Daniel Boyd, pastor of Emmanuel Christian Church in Richmond Hill. The public is invited to lift up the name of Jesus through praise, worship and fellowship.

Health board meeting
The Bryan County Board of Heath will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bryan County Health Department conference room in Pembroke.

Rain barrel workshop
The Richmond Hill Garden Club is sponsoring the “Build Your Own Rain Barrel” Workshop from 10 a.m.-noon June 6 at J.F. Gregory Park. The registration fee is $30. Rockin’ the Ark
Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church will host Rockin’ the Ark vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday-June 7. All ages are invited to the free event, and dinner and snacks will be served.  Register online at rhpchurch.com or call 756-2339.

Bible school

Junior Ranger Camp
Fort McAllister State Historic Park in Richmond Hill will host its a Junior Ranger Summer Camp from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. June 25-29 and July 9-13 for children ages 8-12. Activities will include nature walks, arts and crafts, games, wildlife lessons, canoeing, nature scavenger hunts and learning how to make nature snacks. The cost is $75 per camper. Participation is limited to 30 campers for each week. The deadlines to register are June 15 for the week of June 25 and June 29 for the week of July 9.
