The Georgia Environmental Protection Division will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed consent order for King America Finishing at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Effingham County High School, 1589 Highway 119 in Springfield.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive comments on the proposed KAF consent order to address alleged violations of the Georgia Water Quality Control Act.
The consent order can be viewed at www.georgiaepd.org.

Health board meeting
The Bryan County Board of Health will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bryan County Health Department conference room in Pembroke.

Church anniversary
The Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church of Groveland will celebrate its 148th anniversary with services at 7 p.m. daily Tuesday-Thursday
Special guests will include the Rev. C. L. Anderson on Tuesday, the Rev. George Bush on Wednesday and the Rev. Quentin Morris on Thursday.
The celebration culminates with services at 9:45 a.m. March 10. A special anniversary dinner will be served after worship.

River poker run
A river poker run will be held at 10 a.m. March 9 to benefit former Ellabell resident Chris Bath, who was electrocuted on the job Feb. 24 and is currently in the Joseph M. Still Burn ICU in Augusta in critical condition.
The run will begin at the Ogeechee Forest Landing and go to Hickory Bluff in Brooklet. There will be five stops and the best hand wins.
The entry fee is $20 per boat and other donations are welcome.

Dolphins and Desserts
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration dolphin expert Cheryl Bonnes will be the featured speaker at The Dolphin Project’s Dolphins & Desserts social at 7 p.m. March 9 in Stewart Hall at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave., Savannah.

Weathers-Boyette reunion
The fourth annual Weathers-Boyette family reunion is March 9 at the Antioch Baptist Church in Daisy. A covered-dish luncheon will be served around noon. If you have any family pictures to share, please bring them.

Evan fundraisers
Ribbon sales are currently under way to benefit Evan Nelms, a 5-year-old Richmond Hill boy who is battling leukemia for the second time in a year. Orange bows to be placed on mailboxes or storefronts are on sale for $10 and can be purchased by calling 912-308-3774. All proceeds go toward Evan’s medical expenses.

Crisis Center fundraiser
The UnMaskerade fundraiser is set for 6:30 p.m. April 13 at the Hoskins Center at 5000 Ranger St. in Savannah.
The event, which benefits the Rape Crisis Center, will feature comedian Roz McCoy and have a live and silent auction.
Costs are $100 per guest and $700 per eight-person table.
