In honor of national AmeriCorps Week, the local Volunteers in Service to America and Goodwill’s Richmond Hill Job Connection will host a resources, training opportunities and job fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at Goodwill on Kroger Drive.
The event is a chance for local community organizations to recruit volunteers and provide information to Richmond Hill residents about services, training and job opportunities.

Friends kickoff
Friends of Fort McAllister will hold a kickoff cookout at 1 p.m. Saturday at the family group shelter at the state historic park.
In addition to enjoying hot dogs and hamburgers, visitors can learn more about supporting Fort McAllister and getting involved in coming projects.

‘Seussical’ the musical
Richmond Hill High School will present “Seussical” at 7 p.m. March 21-22 at Richmond Hill Elementary School.
Advanced tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults. At the door, tickets will be $6 for students and $10 for adults. Advanced tickets will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 14-15 and March 18-21 in the cafeteria at RHHS.

Book sale
The Friends of the Richmond Hill Library are planning the Spring Book/Yard Sale set for April 6 at the library and are in need of additional book donations for the sale, especially children’s books.  
Two weeks before the sale there will be a storage trailer on the library grounds for donations of gently used items for the yard sale. Books can be dropped off during library hours, but please do not leave clothes for donation.  
The book/yard sale is the main fundraiser for the Friends of the Richmond Hill Library.  The funds are used to purchase books and other items for the library.

Evan fundraisers
Ribbon sales are currently under way to benefit Evan Nelms, a 5-year-old Richmond Hill boy who is battling leukemia for the second time in a year. Orange bows to be placed on mailboxes or storefronts are on sale for $10 and can be purchased by calling 912-308-3774. All proceeds go toward Evan’s medical expenses.

Crisis Center fundraiser
The UnMaskerade fundraiser is set for 6:30 p.m. April 13 at the Hoskins Center at 5000 Ranger St. in Savannah.
The event, which benefits the Rape Crisis Center, will feature comedian Roz McCoy and have a live and silent auction.
Costs are $100 per guest and $700 per eight-person table.

Smiles For Life benefit
Godley Station Dental in Pooler is providing tooth-whitening procedures through June 30 as a fundraiser to benefit the Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center and the Smiles for Life.
Cost is $209 and is tax-deductible.
The children’s advocacy center provides free services to children who have been abused or witnessed violence.
