The Common Threads Knit and Crochet Club will sponsor a Pillow Pals Workday from noon to 4 p.m. June 16 at the Richmond Hill Public Library, 9607 Ford Ave.
Volunteers will be sewing, stuffing and labeling 8-inch square “comfort” pillows. Tasks are available for all skill levels. Light refreshments will be served.
These pillows are given to breast cancer and abdominal surgery patients to provide support after surgery and to port-a-cath patients to provide protection from seat belts. Volunteers are asked to please bring sewing machines, normal sewing supplies and any poly-fiberfill stuffing they might like to donate.
Common Threads extends a warm welcome to anyone who would like to attend. Come spend an afternoon helping others, supporting survivors and making new friends.
