Early voting for the July 20 general primary will begin June 7 and run through July 16 at the Bryan County Courthouse voter registration office located at 141 South College St., Pembroke. Fishing derby

The Richmond Hill Exchange Club will hold its 20th annual Kid’s Fishing Derby from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 5 at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery. Registration begins at noon. The derby is limited to children ages 15 and under, with awards for children 12 and under. All children will be eligible for door prizes.
Participants should bring fishing poles and bait and be ready to fish. A limited amount of bait will be provided by The Exchange Club, and a limited number of fishing poles will be provided by the state Department of Natural Resources. Ponds will be stocked with catfish. Entry forms, flyers, press releases, and other information are available at www.rhxc.org/fishing.htm.

Summer Food
America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia Summer Food Service Program in Bryan County began June 1. The site location isdabt be 362 Wade Carter Road, Ellabell, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Meals will be provided, free-of-charge, to children enrolled in the summer program without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia has been a leader in initiatives to reduce childhood hunger since it established Kids Café in 1989. Summer feeding is essential to ensuring proper nutrition for children at-risk for hunger since they do not have access to free or reduced-price school lunches when school is out of session.

Teacher appreciation

Corinith VBS
Corinth Baptist Church, 19536 Hwy. 144, Richmond Hill, will have Saddle Ridge Ranch Vacation Bible School, June 21-25, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Praise in the Park
A Praise in the Park Festival will be held Saturday, June 26, from 4-8 p.m. at Hendrix Park. Praise in the Park is a festival, reaching people, young and old, for Christ. Flag football

Art Show featuring Bryan County Artists at the new Bryan County Administrative Complex. The show is in the main lobby and is accessible to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show will run through September.

Seminar for women
The Women in Action ministry of Bryan Missionary Baptist Church presents "Born for Such a Time as This" seminiar for women from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, June 19 at the Wetlands Center in J.F. Gregory Park in Richmond Hill. The seminar is for women and young adults ages 16 and older. It is free and open to the public. Thrift store

St. Elizabeth’s Attic--Thrift and Gift Store is now open and has jewelry, appliances, clothes, furniture, books, children’s toys and games. It is open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon. All proceeds are donated to local charities. Junior Rangers

Fort McAllister State Historic Park will offer Junior Ranger Summer Camp June 14-19 and June 28 -- July 2 for children ages 8 to 12. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. The cost of the camp is $70 per child.
Activities will include nature walks, arts and crafts, games, wildlife lessons, canoeing, nature scavenger hunts and much more. Call 727–2339 for registration and information. The deadline to register for the week of June 14 is June 9, and June 28 for the week of June 23. The participation is limited to 20 campers for each week. 4-H Club

The Bryan County 4-H Club reaches nearly 1,000 young people in Bryan County each month with learning activities such as club meetings, camps, public speaking events, judging and competition teams, community service and citizenship opportunities. All of these activities make 4-H the largest youth program in the country. Your help is needed to assist with the funding of these activities.
