Ellabell VBS
Ellabell United Methodist Church will hold its vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 nightly Sunday-June 28. Classes are available for nursery through adults. Supper will be served each evening.

Corinth Baptist Church will host its “Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity” vacation Bible school from Monday-June 29 at the church, 19536 Highway 144, Richmond Hill.  
Supper will be served at 6 p.m. and Bible school will conclude at 8:30 p.m. The whole family is invited to attend.

St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church will hold its vacation Bible school from 9 a.m.-noon June Monday-June 28. All children ages 5-11 years are welcome.

Junior Ranger Camp
Fort McAllister State Historic Park in Richmond Hill will host its Junior Ranger Summer Camp from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-June 29 and July 9-13 for children ages 8-12.
Activities will include nature walks, arts and crafts, games, wildlife lessons, canoeing, nature scavenger hunts and learning how to make nature snacks.
The cost is $75 per camper. Participation is limited to 30 campers for each week. The deadlines to register are June 15 for the week of June 25 and June 29 for the week of July 9.

Fourth celebration
Richmond Hill will sponsor an Independence Day celebration from 4-9:30 p.m. June 30 in J.F. Gregory Park.
The Heart N’ Soul band will play from 6-9 p.m. Fireworks will start around 9 p.m.
Other activities include family fishing beginning at 4 p.m., a car show, inflatable water rides and other. All events are free of charge.
No alcohol or glass containers are allowed. Bring coolers and lounge chairs or blankets to sit on. Food and beverages will be on sale.

 Patriotic picnic
The city of Pembroke and First Baptist Church will host a patriotic picnic and concert featuring the 3rd Infantry Division Ceremonial Band on July 1 at 169 Church St.
The picnic starts at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
Special guests will include Maj. Gen. Robert Abrams and other dignitaries. Sonny Dixon of WTOC-TV will be emcee. The event is free.

Early voting
Early voting for the July 31 general primary and nonpartisan general election begins at 8 a.m. July 9-21.
Voters can cast a ballot from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Voter Registration Office at 151 South College St. in Pembroke and at the County Administrative Building at 66 Capt. Matthew Freeman Drive in Richmond Hill.
Both locations will also be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 21.
