The Bryan County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed. The board will instead meet at 5:30 p.m. June 19 at the County Administrative Complex in Richmond Hill.
The Common Threads Knit and Crochet Club will sponsor a Pillow Pals Workday from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Richmond Hill Public Library, 9607 Ford Ave
Volunteers will be sewing, stuffing and labeling 8-inch square “comfort” pillows. Tasks are available for all skill levels. Light refreshments will be served.
These pillows are given to breast cancer and abdominal surgery patients to provide support after surgery and to port-a-cath patients to provide protection from seat belts. Volunteers are asked to please bring sewing machines, normal sewing supplies and any poly-fiberfill stuffing they might like to donate.
Common Threads extends a warm welcome to anyone who would like to attend. Come spend an afternoon helping others, supporting survivors and making new friends.

Reiki for pets
Free Reiki pet sessions will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at PawParazzi, 11408 Ford Ave. in Richmond Hill.
Reiki, a gentle and noninvasive application, purportedly uses energy between the practitioner and the client to help the body’s ability to heal itself. The sessions will be conducted by a licensed massage therapist and reflexologist.

A canoeing excursion on the Altamaha River will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fort King George Historic Site Museum.
The trip will run from Miller Lake to Barrington Lake and will last about four hours with guided natural and historical interpretation. Canoes, paddles and life jackets are required. Visitors should bring their own snacks, sunscreen and bug spray.

Veggie Tales VBS
Beulah Baptist Church in Pembroke will host its vacation Bible school, “Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything,” from Veggie Tales, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 18-22.
Kids from age 3 through fifth grade are invited for a fun-filled week exploring what it means to be a true hero for God. Kick-off and pre-registration is 7-8 p.m. June 13 and will include a movie, ice cream and cookies.

Junior Ranger Camp
Fort McAlister State Historic Park in Richmond Hill will host its Junior Ranger Summer Camp from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. June 25-29 and July 9-13 for children ages 8-12.
Activities will include nature walks, arts and crafts, games, wildlife lessons, canoeing, nature scavenger hunts and learning how to make nature snacks.
The cost is $75 per camper. Participation is limited to 30 campers for each week. The deadlines to register are June 15 for the week of June 25 and June 29 for the week of July 9.
