Financial aid

The Richmond Hill Guidance Department will host a financial aid night at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Richmond Hill High School Cafeteria. 
Carol Lott from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be present to give updated financial aid information, HOPE Scholarship information and answer questions. 
All parents are encouraged to attend, though space is limited. Contact Thomas Swinford at 459-5165 to reserve a seat.

Asperger group

The Asperger support group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Richmond Hill Public Library. 
Sara Coggin from Easter Seals will be the guest speaker and will share how Easter Seals can provide funding, services and programs for children with special needs.

Relay kickoff

Richmond Hill will host the 2012 Relay For Life of Bryan County. The American Cancer Society has teamed up Richmond Hill and North Bryan to make a bigger impact on Relay For Life in 2012.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the kickoff event at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Richmond Hill City Center in J.F. Gregory Park.

Job fair

Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire will host a job fair from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 21 at its newest retail location in Richmond Hill.
Job seekers can pick up and drop off applications at the new site at 9701 Ford Ave., next to the new Dollar Tree.

Gold Star Wives

Gold Star Wives of the Coastal Empire will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the Georgia National Guard Armory at 1248 Eisenhower Drive in Savannah.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for the Gold Star wives of any era to meet each other, network and discuss benefits. The moderator of the meeting will be Patricia Barbee, a Gold Star wife from the Vietnam era.

Open house

Richmond Hill High School will host a second-semester open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Jan. 23. Parents will have an opportunity to meet and greet their students’ second-semester teachers.

Volunteers needed

The Bryan County Senior Centers are in need of volunteers to deliver meals to homebound clients from 10 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday in the Richmond Hill and Pembroke areas.

Thrift store
St. Elizabeth’s Attic and Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The store is at St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church at 16491 Highway 144 in Richmond Hill. Gift certificates are available.
