Blood drive in Pembroke  
A community blood drive will take place in Pembroke from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Pembroke United Methodist Church Social Hall, located at 102 North College Street. Mattress sale to benefit soccer
   The Richmond Hill  High School Striker Booster Club will hold a fundraiser mattress sale from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday at the RHHS cafeteria. Brand name mattresses and savings as much as 60 percent off, according to organizers. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds will benefit the RHHS boys’ and girls’ soccer teams. Pregnancy Care Center fundraiser
