A Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension program will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Manor, 141 Timber Trail Road, Richmond Hill.
The free program was designed to provide financial assistance to wartime veterans or their surviving spouse who lack the funds necessary to pay for the assistance they require with the routine activities of daily living.

Charity ball

Willow Salon of Richmond Hill will host the first Willow Charity Ball from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at the Richmond Hill City Center.
The event, which is black tie optional, will include a dinner buffet, dancing, silent auction and a cash bar. Tickets are $75 per person, and all proceeds will benefit the Bryan County Children’s Fund.
Sponsorships are available at various levels ranging from $75 to $1,200.

Holiday concert

The Richmond Hill High School Band and Richmond Hill Middle School Wildcat Winds will perform a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the pavilion at J.F. Gregory Park.
Admission is free, and light refreshments will be provided.
 
Choral concert
The Richmond Hill High School chorus will perform a Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Friday in the Richmond Hill Elementary School auditorium.

Firefighter ball

The first Pink Heals Firefighter Ball will be from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday at the Hunter Club at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah.
The event will include a DJ, dancing and a meal provided by Sticky Fingers of Savannah and a cash bar.
The ball is open to the general public, not just firefighters. Tickets are $25 per person or $35 per couple and are available through Shane Shifflett or William Davis at Hunter AAF Fire Department or at Garden City Fire Station 2 on Hwy. 80.

Winter Muster
Fort McAllister State Historic Park will hold its annual Winter Muster and Battle from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the park on Fort McAllister Road in South Bryan.
Spend the day at the fort as Union and Confederate forces prepare for the climactic battle of Sherman’s March to the Sea. Guests will be able to witness the battle for control of the fort at 5 p.m.
The cost of attendance is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children.

Legion party
American Legion Post 164 and the Ladies Auxiliary invite all area active duty military and their families to the annual Post Christmas party at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. The party will be at the Post home on Hwy. 280, west of Harvey’s in Pembroke.
A meal will be served and Santa will pay a visit to the children.
Guests will be limited to Pembroke, Groveland, Ellabell and Brooklet area residents. All members are asked to bring a large side dish. Meat, bread and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.

Holiday play

The Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association presents the annual production of the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol” at 8 p.m. Dec. 10-11 and 17-18 and at 3 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Historic Ritz Theatre, 1530 Newcastle St., Brunswick.

Candlelight service
Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church will hold a Candlelight Communion Service at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the church, 16525 Hwy. 144 in Richmond Hill.

Holiday concert
A season favorite every year, the Savannah Philharmonic’s annual holiday concert, Christmas with the Philharmonic, will be performed on Friday and Saturday, Dec.17 and 18, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah.
Last year’s Christmas concert sold out prior to the event and no tickets were available at the door. Ticket prices are $35, $50 and $100.  Family tickets are available for purchase for $100 (family of four, limited seating). Tickets are available at www.savannahphilharmonic.org or by calling (912) 525-5050.

The Sarcoidosis Support Group will meet at noon Dec. 16 in the Candler Hospital Heart and Lung Building, 2nd Floor, Classroom 3, Savannah.
Learn to cope with this medical mystery and get current information from physicians, natural foods and other health care professionals. Speak with those who have coped with sarcoidosis for many years.
