The YMCA of Coastal Georgia has received a $10,000 Quality of Life grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. 
The award was one of 77 grants totaling more than $508,000 awarded by the Reeve Foundation to nonprofit organizations nationwide that aid in providing opportunities, access and daily quality of life for individuals living with paralysis, their families and caregivers.

The YMCA of Coastal Georgia will use the grant to support its Spinal Cord Injury/Stroke Personal Training program, an intense and rigorous physical training program designed to assist in the rehabilitation of people living with a spinal cord injury or who have been affected by a stroke.
The program provides physical training and a venue for like individuals to share and learn from each other. The program also promotes hope that increased functionality and independence may be possible.
Since the grant program was developed in 1999 by the late Dana Reeve, more than 1,900 grants have been awarded, totaling nearly $14.8 million.
