Newmans celebrate 65th wedding anniversary
Anniversary-Newman correcte

Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Newman will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, March 18.

They were married on March 18, 1942 in Bryan County and have resided in the Black Creek Community since their marriage.

Mr. Newman owned and operated Newman Lumber Company, after he returned from World War II, until his retirement. Mrs. Newman is a homemaker.

They have a son, Derrell (Debbie) Newman, two daughters, Tera Sims (Vernon) and Brenda (Danny) Cox; three grandchildren, Michelle Seger (Dennis), Malinda Flake (Joel) and Tanya Epperson (Stan); two great-granddaughters, Lindsay and Logan Seger and two great-grandsons, Payton and Tanner Flake.

The couple’s physical activity is limited, but when health permits they enjoy a "short" trip to the Farmers Market in Asheville and Mr. Newman still loves hunting, fishing and gardening. They also enjoy having friends and family stop in for a chat.

A lunch "of their choice" is planned with the immediate family.
