9/11 ceremonies planned

Richmond Hill will be home to two 9/11 remembrance services Friday.

A memorial walk with 343 participants in memory of the 343 firefighters who died in the World Trade Center attacks will start at 8:45 a.m. at the Bryan County Fallen Firefighter Memorial Site behind the South Bryan County Administration building on Capt. Mathew Freeman Drive.

Participants are asked to wear navy-blue shirts for the walk.

Also Friday, the ceremony “We Will Never Forget” will be at 10 a.m. in J.F. Gregory Park, 521 Cedar St. Speakers will include Mayor Harold Fowler, police Chief Bill Reynolds and fire Chief Ralph Catlett. The event is open to the public.
