Two local students on 'Who's Who' list

WALESKA — Two Bryan County students at Reinhardt University have been selected Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
Aaron Avera, a junior middle-grades education major from Pembroke, and Sarah Hewett, a senior sports studies major from Richmond Hill, were among the 44 Reinhardt students selected.
“The faculty, staff and students of the University wish to thank these outstanding students for what they have meant to our institution,” said Dr. Walter May, director of student activities and assistant dean of students. “Our success as an institution has been built on the efforts and accomplishments of students such as these.”
According to a news release, each year Reinhardt University, along with more than 1,400 other colleges and universities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, selects undergraduate and graduate students based on scholarship, leadership and campus involvement for the Who’s Who list.
The aim of Who’s Who Among Students program is to recognize young adults who enhance the positive image of American youth through their contributions to their community and college through their curricular and extracurricular involvements.
Selections to Who’s Who Among Students are made by individual schools through nominating upperclassmen students eligible for the program. Only upperclassmen (juniors and seniors) students matriculating in a four-year undergraduate curriculum with a 3.5 GPA are eligible for nomination to Who’s Who Among Students.
